SOAPBOX SATURDAY is a family-friendly car-themed event designed to raise Autism Acceptance & Awesomeness in the South Okanagan, as well as raise funds for 'The Penticton Centre for Exceptional Learning'. We will celebrate the accomplishments, skills, & possibilities of and for those on the Autism Spectrum. We will make new friends & connections in the Okanagan Autism community, & come together to support each other & our families.
We are proud to present:
- a presentation by Austin Riley, the world's first professional race car driver with Autism (https://www.racingwithautism.com/);
- the Autism Reality Experience (https://www.autismrealityexperience.com/);
- a Soapbox Derby (with the choice to drive your own amazing homemade creation, or drive one we provide to you);
- a Potato Derby (with itty-bitty cars made from potatoes);
- a Boyd Autobody Car-BQ;
- and an Autism Service-Provider Expo.
